November 14th, 2016

Zines are short-run, independently published magazines on a variety of subjects. Common themes include art, comics, short stories, cultural criticism, and social commentary.

This week we will:

  • Make more Zines!

  • Talk with Max and Sanaa of Tiny Splendor a collective publishing press operating out of Berkeley and Los Angeles

  • Explore a couple different ways to bind larger zines.

We will also visit the pop up exhibition in the Donahue Rare Book Room (11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.)  showcasing a variety of small press and “do it yourself” books which speak to the spirit of zine culture and the art of the hand-made book.”
